It’s simple…just live.

As Christians, we can rest in assurance that God is ALWAYS in control even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty.

For example look at the three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the 3rd Chapter of Daniel. King Nebuchadnezzar ordered the three Hebrew boys into the fiery furnace because they refused to bow down to him as god. Their response to the King indicated their complete and utter devotion to God. In Daniel 3:17 they replied to the King,  “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king”

Not once did these young men show any fear, doubt or uncertainty and they knew what would happen if they refused to bow. When our faith and trust is completely in God and His word, our hearts will be at peace. We can find immediate comfort in Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

The fire was so hot, it immediately turned the guards into ashes as they threw the three Hebrew boys into the furnace. However the three Hebrew boys were not harmed and were found walking in the midst of it. In fact, we are told in verses 24-25, “Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellers, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” I get chills just imagining the power of God in the midst of this fiery furnace. The story ends with the three Hebrew boys saved from the furnace with no residuals of smoke or fire on them. This gives us the hope and assurance that no matter what is going on around us, we will not be harmed or destroyed because we are protected by God (Luke 20:19).

We do not know what the future holds, but we do know who holds our future. It’s not in the hands of the Government but in the hands of the one True King, Jesus Christ. Have faith in God that He will protect and guide you through the uncertainties of tomorrow. Fear not is written 365 times in the Bible for a reason. God wants us not to panic but to put our full trust in Him. You matter to God, you are His child, His inheritance He will protect and cover you.

While fear is a natural instinct, faith is our spiritual response. When we trust God and His word we are placing our life in His hands and leaving it there. For those times when fear and doubt arise, mediate on these scriptures:
